Our Language Arts classes are reviewing things we learned last semester, and we are gearing up for TCAP!!
We will continue to review nouns as we work on verbs and grammar.     

T H I N K  S N O W !!!!!

Our students have been working on contractions in both spelling and in grammar.  That test will be this Thursday, December 15th.  

Our homeroom Christmas party will be Friday morning.  We will make Gingerbread Houses beginning around 8:30.   Come help!!

We are working on Singular and Plural nouns in both spelling and in Language Arts this week.  We are still reviewing common and proper nouns also.  We even went back to review sentence types this morning!!  

Can you believe it is November already??   I am already seeing Christmas trees!!!!     We are continuing to work on sentences, nouns and verbs.  We are writing every week!   Please encourage your child to do their best work in the classroom.  We will be finished with this second nine weeks before you know it!!

OUR FALL FUN FEST IS THIS THURSDAY FROM 5 TILL 8 PM.  COME ON OUT AND HAVE A GOOD TIME!!  

Next week will be the end of our first nine weeks of school.   Fall Break follows that the first week in October!   We will come back to school on Tuesday, October 11th and have Parent Teacher Conferences that Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.  

We have been in school for 7 weeks now.  We are writing every week in our journals.  We are practicing writing good sentences and telling a story on paper.  We have learned 4 sentence types and are practicing identifying them and their ending marks.  We have worked with sentence fragments and complete sentences. 
We are learning the eight parts of speech and how they are used.  We just finished taking our first NWEA computer tests that show  

No school on Labor Day, Monday, September 5th.
Progress Reports will come home Wednesday, September 7th.
Grandparent's Day is September 9th.

A few notes:
*Homeroom students received their class schedules this week.  Parents, it is in their binders.  
*All students wrote in their journals for the first time Thursday.  We will be writing a great deal this year.  Our goal is making good sentences and telling a story.
*Spelling words will come home every Monday in your child's planner.  
*We will be working with plural words in spelling and on putting words in alphabetical order this week.
